If anyone is interested in having a great time, I would recommend the color run San Diego will be hosting in just a few short weeks. The color run is a 5k run that has participants running much like many other fun runs, and parts of the proceeds even go to charity. The big difference between the color run and all of the other runs is that every fifteen minutes or so, there is a Color Bomb Squad that stands at the sidelines and showers all of the runners with vibrant colored powder.
It may sound a little bit vain, but I am spending these next few weeks trying to get into my peak physical condition so that I can showcase my muscles in all the different colors. I have also put a lot of thought into what I should wear, and I have been looking for the best outfit for the event. I know that I certainly want to wear a white shirt so that the colors will show up on it, and it will be something that I can keep for years to come to remember the awesome time I had. I thought for a moment about buying white shorts, for the same reason, but when I examined this outfit in the mirror, it didn't look quite right, so I took the opposite path and chose black shorts.
I finished my outfit with some white running shoes and pristine white socks, I felt that I was ready to learn more about colors themselves and went to the library where I could check out a large, full-color book about color theory and how one can create new colors using various paint combinations and light wavelengths. I began an experimental painting that involved gradients of color, including purple, red, blue, green, grey, and pretty much anything else that I could possibly envision until I did not think any more combinations were possible.
With all of my admittedly esoteric investigations out of the way, I decided that now, I can focus on the upcoming color run San Diego will be hosting, and I want to be the most prepared and informed person there. One interesting tidbit of information for runners is that what looks like powder is in truth dyed corn starch, a very harmless substance.
I was actually a little disappointed to find that it was such a mundane substance, but when I reexamined photos of previous runs, my disappointment drifted away like so much cotton fluff. The colors were bright, lovely, and exciting in a way that I still cannot explain. As far as colors go, I have zero doubts that all other experiences with them will pale in comparison to this 5k color run.
