The LG P500 Android - Our Review Of This Popular Phone

By William Bertholet

The Android platform for smart phones is slowly becoming the standard for a lot of phone manufacturers, even LG is getting in on the market with its P500. LG developed the Optimus line of phones to stay on pace with other companies like Motorola, who are taking advantage of Google's operating system. This Android phone from LG has been getting a considerable amount of attention, which is rather odd since it doesn't contain all the features as other Android phones. The LG Optimus One P500 Android handset instead tries to appeal with a modest price tag without trimming too much on performance and features so users can still enjoy the Android experience and its growing marketplace of mobile apps.Just be certain, when looking at mobile phones, that your chosen cell phone is secure against hacking by means of spyware for cell phones software and applications like the kind you may research like Mobile Spy

Strengths

A terrific feature is the fact that the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset still looks like an Android phone, while a few features are missing the look remains the same. The 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display is definitely not the biggest but that makes the phone more portable in comparison to its bigger Android peers. The phone and a lot of the apps are in reality faster due to the multi touch feature. Few phones that cost about the same feature multi touch functions. Plus, you can view DVD quality movies with the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset. The 170 MB of internal memory may seem like a limitation but the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset has a microSD card slot that supports up to 32 GB of RAM. To add to the phone's value, a 2 GB microSD card is already included. Combined with the 3.5mm standard audio jack, you can already build up a modest mp3 collection without spending more.

And also, this Android phone from LG has WIFI and Bluetooth which comes with all the LG smart phones. A neat little feature that also comes included with this phone is the internal GPS. Furthermore, with the built-in accelerometer, changing the view from portrait to landscape and back again is extremely simple. Additionally, the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset comes with the ever popular 3G technology. Finally, this phone has a great loudspeaker.

Downsides

The shortcomings of this Android phone from LG are a bit unique but nothing too alarming. Even though the camera has auto focus, face detection and geotagging, however the phone only works with 3 mega pixels. One other disadvantage is that this particular phone has no Adobe Flash support. Lastly, the slow 600 MHz processor may make editing documents a bit sluggish but luckily the rest of the interface works fine.

Judgment

If you haven't gotten a smart phone yet and would like to, the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset is ideal for anyone looking to make the switch. This is also a good learning phone. You will be able to learn about all the features the Android phones have and will be able to find if later on you may need a more high-priced phone with a lot more features in the future. But then, you may decide that the LG Optimus One P500 Android handset itself is suitable for all your needs.
