The Different Kinds Of Work Gloves

By Minnie Whitley

In the work place, there are many things to watch out for. Most especially that in this area there are so many accidents that happen. Basically, hazards are found in every way in the work place and they just wait to be triggered. For example in the construction site. Many contractors are at risk of falling, or being hit by falling objects. While for doctors, contamination and corrosion could happen.

Considering these cases, there have been protective gears which were made to keep workers from being harmed. One of those protective gears is the work gloves. Most of the time these garments are used by individuals whose hands are in contact with corrosive elements or hand wrecking materials such as chemicals, sharp instruments, heat and some other causes.

They are basically used in order to keep the chemicals, heat, and harmful materials from causing harm. But other than that, they are also used to protect the hands from chemical and acid corrosion especially for those people who have allergies. However, these protective garments cannot ensure you of your safety. But if you observe proper work behavior and choose the appropriate garment, you can definitely avoid the hazards.

Speaking of this, there are many different kinds. The first one is the disposable gloves. These are made from trivial plastic and their goal is to secure the hands from the mild irritants such as detergent soap. This type of muffs is recommended for those individuals who have skin allergy and are sensitive to cleaning agents. Aside from that, they are used in food handling as well.

Another type is called the fabric gloves. This one is used to help in gripping objects which are slippery. With them, you can hold things as is. Not just that, they can also help in keeping your hands insulated from either heat or cold. While leather gloves is another type and is used to guard against rough surfaces and when dealing with electricity.

Next is the rubber gloves. This kind is the ones used by both construction workers and medical personnel. Basically, this one protects the hands from being harmed by the strong chemical substances encountered in the experiments. In the construction, there are a lot of substances like petroleum products and other grease that could dirty and harm the skin.

But aside from those, they are used by various medical staffs like the doctors and scientists as well. Basically, these people are always engaged in experimentation of harmful substances just like the blood of contaminated patients. With this, to avoid contamination, they wear rubber muffs when they work.

Aside from that, there is the metal mesh gloves. This one is a kind of muff used to secure hands from accidental scratches and cuts especially by those individuals who deal with cutting tools and other dangerous materials, and the last one is the aluminized muffs. This one is designed to insulate hands from intense heat and is used by people dealing with molten materials.

These are the most common kinds of working muffs. They were created in order to protect the workers from the potential harms on the way. However, there are times when there is no need to put them on. If you see that they can only bring harm if worn then do not wear them. After all, it is your carefulness that matters most.
