Using A Mole Trap To Get Rid Of Mole Damage In Your Yard

By Helene Norris

When a home owner has moles messing up their yard, they are going to want to get rid of the problem as soon as possible. Besides making the yard look ugly, they also bring down the property value of the home due to making it look undesirable and unattractive. There are many remedies that people have come out with to get rid of this problem, but none of these ideas ever work. Instead, a homeowner will want to get professional mole trap to do the job the right way.

These critters live the majority of their life underground in the dirt. They make tunnels that they use to find worms and other insects that are part of their diet. A good tunnel will provide them with food for a long time, but it will eventually not have as much food as it once did. This is when they will need to make a new tunnel that has more food for them.

Living in healthy dirt is very important to this animal. When a person has a nice yard that they take care of, they will have a greater chance of having a mole move into their yard. This yard will surely be full of nice worms and other insects for them to enjoy.

The problem with moles is that they will kill your plants and trees. This is not done purposely, they just want to eat, but in the process they will have someone's grass turning brown and make weak spots in the yard. Also, the tunnels that they make will eventually welcome other pests such as mice, snakes and other unwanted creatures.

Molehills in the yard is the first sign that a person has a problem. Landscaping plants and other shrubs will all become ruined, and the yard will have an uneven feel to it. The yard will look nothing like the beautiful yard that it one was. Even though they are only doing what they do naturally, nobody wants them to be doing it in their yard. They can really mess up all of the hard work that someone has put into their property.

It is very rare for these critters to enter someone's home. If it did happen, it would clearly be accidental on the mole's part. It may have been a tunnel gone wrong that ended up at the house. If this were to happen, the little critter will not be happy about it and will want to get out of there as soon as possible.

Poison traps will do no good with these guys as they smell really good. Repellents will also not do anything to get rid of them. Only by using a mole trap can someone find success in getting rid of their problem. Making sure that hands are not all over the mole trap are important. The good smelling ability of these guys will keep them away from it if it smells anything like human.

The traps will need to be placed inside of the tunnels. It is important to pay attention to the directions of the mole trap for it to be affective. The points of the trap will need to penetrate the mole to work.
