The Power Of Art Will Move Any Person

By Freda Watts

If you are a lover of fine things and understand the power of art, then a visit to the local gallery should be in order. Here one will not only find the works of some famous artists, but also of the local talent. Should you be looking to spend a little bit of money on the home, this is a great way to do it. Such works add to the value of your home and in many cases should be insured.

Artworks come in many forms and one is not just restricted to paintings. One will find these different forms at the gallery you visit. One will find other forms such as various sculptures. Many mediums are used when the artist expresses them self.

Such works are usually quite expensive to purchase but add style to any home. One should make an attempt to have at least four great pieces of artwork in the home. They are great conversational matter at any house party. One could even try to do some for your home yourself. The more you do the better you get at it and soon you will be able to fill your house with original pieces of your own work.

Should this not be your cup of tea, one could always visit a gallery where your favorite artist exhibits his work and commission him to do some canvasses for your home. Usually the gallery will do this for you. Doing such work for a client is an artist's greatest dream. This is one way that the painter can get his name well known and should his work be admired by many people, he will soon get a good reputation which any one in the art world wants nowadays.

In modern life, art is used in many ways. Psychologists analyze children's drawings in order to determine what they are thinking and what is going on in their lives. These pictures reflect their inner feelings and a lot of information can be taken from them.

Identikit artists help police by drawing sketches of people. They are given a few hints as to how the person looks and then come up with a fairly accurate picture of their identity. This way, many criminals are captured and detained.

Recently, in an African country, a painting exposing the president's genitals was being exhibited in a gallery. An angry citizen entered the gallery and splashed a tin of black paint over that area in disgust. This caused quite a huge uproar and resulted in a protest outside of the gallery. The defaced picture still hangs inside the gallery.

Many famous works hang in galleries all over the world and are securely guarded, that is how great the power of art can be. Such pieces are very valuable and in most cases irreplaceable. These works capture the times of years gone by and offer ideas as to how life was in those days. A very good example of artworks in centuries past, are the cave scribbling in Africa, where the cave people sketched pictures of their people hunting wild animals. By analyzing these pictures, people of today are able to understand the way they lived in those days.
