The best way to have an Entertaining Commute to work!

By Kealey Smith

Everyone sees the daily commute as something very boring, but there are so many ways you can boost your commute that there is no need to worry about the length of the journey any more. All that you need is a number of things to distract yourself. Download a fun app where you can guess the celebrity, read a classic novel or perhaps get some work done - there are plenty of techniques to have a laugh.

Music

Before you go off and leave the house, add all of your favorite albums to your MP3 player. On your walk to the train station, or in your automobile you are going to adore having some much loved tunes playing in your ear or on your auto sound system. Maybe even set up a playlist full of inspirational songs for the day that will get you galvanized on the way to work or tunes that can help you unwind on the journey home.

Books

Start to read - it's great for jacking up your vocabulary and is also a great conversation starter with other book lovers. If carrying heavy books around does not appeal to you, invest in a pill or a Kindle which is lightweight and permits you to carry a lot of different sorts of book around to suit whatever mood you're in.

Games

Whether it's having a great time with a Sudoku book or playing game apps on your phone, there are numerous entertaining games and puzzles you can do on your commute to and from work. They are excellent for distracting you from the nerve-wrangling day ahead and can also help you chill out on the journey home. Play classic games such as Solitaire, or try new ones where you can draw pictures or guess the celebrity for a little bit of breezy fun.

Chatting

Catch up on your mails, text your friends or talk to the individual next to you (this might be a frightful idea if you are a London commuter). It passes the time and can actually make your commute more fun - most critically it implies you can catch up with those people you haven't spoken to in a while. If you are calling though, try not to be one of those folks that has such a loud phone conversation the full train carriage can hear!

Working

If you love your job, doing more work on your commute can basically make it more fun! Once you have sat down on your train you can get out your tablet, notebook or tablet and start typing up the minutes of the meeting you've just been in, entering information, emailing co-workers or whatever else. OK, so that the work itself would possibly not be fun but if you can manage somehow to be more productive on your journey from and to work, then you may have a lot more time for having a good time with your folks at home.

Social Networks

A good way of slaughtering some time (and having fun) is to get Facebook or Twitter up on your phone or other handheld device and browse through your friends posts and tweets. You never can tell, you may discover a stream of very amusing tweets that will keep you laughing all of the way to work!
