Tired Of Rolling The Dice When You Buy Funny TShirts?

By Roger York

Has anyone else noticed that there are hundreds and hundreds of thousands of websites that sell funny tshirts, with more popping up every day? There are hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of these sites, but many of them seem to be molded from the same type of clay. If you look at enough of these sites, you'll notice a pattern evolving that shows that in fact, there really are just a few certain types of merchant websites that sell these kind of t-shirts.

The most obvious type that you'll notice are the sites that are run by huge companies that own dozens, if not hundreds of different websites. These sites are extremely professional, but tend to be a bit impersonal when it comes to dealing with customer complaints or problems. They also tend to only release funny tee shirts that are already popular on other sites, so you'll never really find anything new or inspired from them. Expect great quality, slow shipping, and low levels of customer support.

On the far end of companies like Wal-Mart are the local stores. The funny t-shirts industry has a niche like this to fill as well. There are people who want to start a company and are attracted to how little capital it takes to begin, but they soon find out that this is no place for someone like a college kid with other priorities in their life. Making money online in any field takes an enormous amount of effort, sweat, and late work days. You cannot win this race without running as hard as you can, and many of these amateur sites are doomed to fail before they even begin.

Everyone has to start somewhere, though. There is a portion of these start-up Internet companies that will begin to grow. There is no luck involved in selling funny tee shirts on the Web. It takes lots of work and even more dedication. It takes late nights of marketing and early mornings of web design. It is difficult. A small portion of the lazy folks who thought starting the company would be easy will find the inner reserves of insight and strength, grit their teeth, and make it work. These are the best companies to deal with, because they will work extremely hard to retain return customers.

There is a darker side to the Internet that anyone who has spent any amount of time browsing it will know exists in abundance. The world of funny shirts is not spared the corruption of shady business owners. You can usually spot these vendors from the poor design of their pages and also by the very familiar look of their t-shirts. Imagine paying $20 for a new funny t-shirt, going to a large department store, and seeing it on sale there for $5. As conniving as this may seem, it happens all the time. The only defense is a good common sense and research, so be careful.

These are, of course, just mild observations I've had through the years of scouting for funny tee shirts to buy. No one is perfect, but try your best to steer away from the sites that look bad. If there's one thing I've learned over the years of being on the Internet constantly, is that websites that are poorly designed or don't run as intended are no place to spend your money.
