Guidelines On Making Your Computer Quicker

By Icabod Lucas Xavier

If you've had your computer for more than a year or so, then perhaps it's been getting slower and slower. Maybe web pages take longer to load, or you have trouble watching videos on YouTube. The truth is, there are some simple things that you can do that will quickly speed up your computer. Some of these are free, and some of them cost money, but they all work like a charm.

One of the biggest things that slows your computer down are hidden programs that sneak into your operating system. These spyware and adware programs don't intend any harm, they were just created to increase somebody's marketing income. But they do slow down your system quite a bit. If you don't do anything about them, your system will become incredibly slow over time.

In order to get rid of them, you should run a deep anti virus kit. There are plenty of these for free, but if you want a really good one, expect to spend twenty or thirty bucks. These will go a long way in keeping your computer free from the bugs that will keep it slow.

If your computer registry gets corrupted or broken, it can slow your computer down quite a bit. Your registry is a list of all the software that is operating on your computer. If you are like most people, then you add and remove quite a few programs. This can damage the registry, which can make your computer a lot slower.

In order to clean it up, you've got to get a registry cleaning program. Many times these come along with anti virus programs, so you can get a pretty good deal if you buy them both at the same time. That way you'll be able to kill two birds with on stone.

One way to speed up your system is to configure your start up menu. This is all the programs that launch when you start your computer. Only select the ones that you use regularly. The others will still be there, but they won't fire up unless you click on them.

These are a couple of easy tips that you can use to speed up your computer. Once you try these out, you'll feel like your computer is brand new again. And that is a good feeling.
