Autograph Biography of Mark Turgeon

By Mark Turgeon

Dave Winfield of the New York Yankees was my first autograph. I was eight years old when I received his autograph, and after that day Dave was a hero to me.

Collecting sports cards was one of my first hobbies as a kid, but to get them autographed from your favorite sports hero was another thing. I enjoyed playing all sports and watching them on TV, such as the NY Yankees, Mets, Boston Red Sox, NY Jets, and more. The sport of hockey was my favorite and I enjoyed watching and cheering on my team the Hartford Whalers. I official started collecting autographs in Hartford, CT from the Whalers and the visiting teams they played.

Between the ages of 10 and 17, I collected hockey autographs in Hartford. Every time I met a new hockey superstar, I would get a rush. I obtained a massive collection of hockey autographs that consisted of pucks, cards, photos, sticks, and programs.

The Hartford Whalers organization moved to North Carolina and my era of obtaining NHL autographs kind of ended, but my love for autographs did not die. I began to start collecting music autographs from the various artists and bands that toured in Hartford, CT and through out the state. I have also traveled frequently to New York City and Boston, MA meeting bands such as The Rolling Stones, Doors, ZZ Top, Dave Matthews Band, U2 and more.

I love all music from Rock, Pop, Blues, Rap, Folk, Jazz, International, and Country. I believed in the various artists from these genres and always had an interest of obtaining autographs from them.

Today, I would sell some of my autographs I have obtained for a supplemental income. Please check out my website for autographs for sale along with viewing authentic autograph exemplars at www.sharkstreasures.com.

Presently I reside in Los Angeles, CA and still continue to work with the best in the autograph industry as well as able to collect in all aspects. After many years of collecting and studying autographs I am able to determine if an autograph is genuine or fake. It's a shame of how may fake autographs are in the market, and it will continue to get worst, because some people are just greedy and have no respect for the industry.

Collecting autographs has always been one of my biggest hobbies. I recently decided to finish my college degree studying Geography and GIS at California State University, Northridge. Nobody knows what the future hold, but autographs will always be a part of my life and I want to continue to supply the market with authentic pieces and educate people with my knowledge to help make decisions for buying and collecting autographs. All the Best Mark Turgeon
