Woodblock printing technique was commonly used in textile industry. It was used in making images, patterns, and printing text on clothes and books. Indeed, wood prints were highly used in the olden days. Woodblock was mainly prepared by an artist with the help tools such as sandpapers, knives, and chisels. The block was initially put in an ink before being placed on a piece of a cloth so as to produce the intended image.

To form patterns and special characters on woodblock surfaces, one had to follow certain procedures. Making a single slight mistake would result into a big problem. This crystal clearly shows that the procedure was to be performed by the only knowledgeable and competent individuals. These kinds of people had acquired a lot of respect from the society because of their ability to produce facilities of such a great value. Artists had characteristics discussed below.

The artists were much aware of the needs of audience. This is why they did everything possible to come up with components that would suit their requirements. If an artist realized that the audience wanted blocks that would be used to produce multiple colors, they could actually make multiple blocks. Most importantly, they had eyes for designs. They knew what should be done in order to come up with a facility of the right quality and the one that is good looking.

Artists are generally creative. They are used to coming up with new ideas every time to make sure that they produced services that could meet the needs of customers. Creativity gave them the ability to tackle different problems in the right way. These people had the humility. They could withstand criticism and hostile environments especially if they produced items that did not please the customers.

They had knowledge of materials. They had special skills that could help them distinguish between the right materials to use for this kind of activity and the rest. These professionals had passion with their area of expertise. They liked using knives, and tools to make the required patterns on the blocks of wood.

The actual process of making patterns on the woodblock was actually long. It had many stages. The first one was to make a good sketch. This was done so as to reduce chances of making errors in the course of the entire procedure. If one was not capable of making these kinds of sketches he or she would automatically be disqualified. They had the capability of marketing themselves and the item they produced.

The artists had great vision. They wanted to come up with facilities that would meet all the requirements of people. They worked hard so that they to ensure the quality of activities they perform improved abundantly. They had self-esteem and this enabled them to withstand criticism and other problems.

Other than being reliable, these artists were also flexible. They had the capability of making different types of patterns and images. At times, they would change their working schedule so as to respond to complains of their clients. Their excellent listening and communication skills enhanced their performance.
