Popular Mehandi Designs

Mehandi which was ones a part of the local Asian culture has now become one of the most popular practices all around the world. You can find different kinds of mehandi designs flourishing around in different cultures which use mehandi as a beatifying feature of women, at almost every occasion.



For example, the Arabic mehandi designs which consists of large flower patterns on the hands and feet of the women to make them look more beautiful, this type of design also reflects the innovation and experience of the skilled artist in making a different design on for everyone, it has also been a mark of artist around the world among other traditions, especially Arabian peninsula.

Mehandi is undoubtedly a temporary portray made on the arms and feet to make it seem lovely, it is prepared with the aid of henna. Henna is a small tree or shrub, the leaves are taken from the plant first the leaves are grinded wholly and then combined with mustard oil, in many instances with tea to make it thicker.

Note that Indian designs consist of many small shapes, at the same time Arabic designs include several large shapes with gigantic areas which might be thoroughly stuffed in with henna.

As said above Arabic mehandi consists of more floral designs such as the stems, the leaves and the flowers which are not the part of the Indian mehandi designs. Indian mehandi also has another distinguishing feature compared to the Arabic designs and it is the spacing, Indian designs have less space in between the figures drawn compared to the Arabic mehandi designs. Also, Indian mehandi designs have smaller shapes and minute designs whereas the Arabic mehandi mostly consists of the large shapes and patterns with large area that is completely filled with henna.

The most accepted social gathering where mehandi is by and large used in India is the wedding.
