By Leslie Ball

Liturgical furnishing is any movable object found in the places of worship of different religious groups which facilitates the offering of services. This depends on the beliefs, customs and traditions in which the people have dominated. Some of the groups cannot use certain items and others limit the use of items made of some materials. Therefore, many liturgical furniture designing companies try to fulfill the need of every religion by producing what they demand.

Worship places are in different categories. That of Christians is called a church. Muslims perform their liturgy in mosques. The activities involved in offering a service determine the type of the furniture to be used. Those involved in several activities make use of more furnishings. The size of these items tends to be the same size regardless of the design or the religion.

Regulation on the furnishing is carried out by the church. Its design is in such a way that it provides a good environment for worship. The decision is based on many people. The difference will be on the materials used in making them.

A wide range of materials are used in the furniture making. This depends on the choice by a consumer and includes; metals, plastic, wood and glass. The sustainability of metallic products is high and therefore its use has increased in demand over the years. Those made of glass are subjected to many risks when using them. There are two types of woods that are used in fittings making; the hard and the softwoods. Elimination of scratches, cuts, or flaws by means of sanding is important. Improvements in technology have led to the development of a type that has compartments that are lockable for safe and sound storage of items. In the modern times, most handles used in the wooden fixtures are made of iron.

There are many companies that have generalized their activities towards the production of these liturgical items. They do not specialize in products of a single domination. Competition among them has resulted in the development of high quality products. They receive orders to supply or get into a contract to construct a plentiful type of these items. E. G. A church may need to change its seats. The products are in different sizes depending on the intended purpose.

The best design of such items has a holy effect on the worshippers. It is cheap to obtain these products from the distributors. They can also offer delivery service to the place where the place of worship is located. Immediate delivery is ensured once the order is made. They make the customers enjoy their services by providing them with free assembly and carpenter services.

The furniture if maintained well can take a long time to demand for replacement. Wooden materials used are treated against infestation.
