When I think of city bikes, the one element that seems to come to mind amongst any other has got to be travel. You have to consider the fact that movement is going to be done more than anything when talking about these. Whether you're going around the block or taking a long trek from home to work, it's clear that your eye is going to catch a multitude of aspects. When it comes to said aspects, I think that many of them deserve to be photographed.
I've always believed that city bikes are some of the most personal vehicles one can have and cars simply cannot match up in that regard. You can take into consideration the element of air and how it hits you as you're breezing along one street after another. What if it's being able to touch the environment around you, thereby increasing that personal sense to higher degrees than before? These are just a number of small factors but companies such as Linus Bike can tell you about others.
Now that you're out and about on your bike, I'm sure you're wondering what kinds of items deserve to be preserved in photography. Many of them have to be landscapes, large structures which people recognize and may pose in front of you for the sake of enjoyment. If you go and visit Philadelphia, for example, I'm sure that you'll see many people running up the iconic "Rocky" steps in order to pose at the very top after. It's something people have to do, no matter what.
From what I've seen, though, people will take pictures of just about anything and I feel like the uprising of such sites as Pinterest and Instagram have made this popular. When I go out to the diner with my family, it's not uncommon for me to see my mother or sister take pictures of their meals before they eat. It's something that makes me roll my eyes but that doesn't mean I don't see the attraction there. It's a little joy some people take pride in.
I think it goes without saying that city bikes house a great deal of potential but I believe that the idea of exploration isn't regarded as much. If you're going to travel long distances, it's likely that you'll come across more attractive sights and feel inclined to take pictures of them. I know that I did this a lot when vacationing with my family and having pictures taken of myself with my brother and sister is normal. I know that, in the future, these will be fine digital memories.
