The Different Sound That Kosmoratik Produces

By Agnes Franco

In today's music world, too often do you hear the same thing being played on the radio. It is as if the music industry has gotten hold of a formula and people have been programmed to hear what they are supposed to hear. If you wish to hear a fresh listen, however, the sound of Kosmoratik can be a good try.

A musical project which is currently based in Oslo, the band is known for being both a recording and a performing one as well. They have been aiming towards introducing complex themes in the musical framework that they play at. This is something that most music today lacks.

This group has cited the influences of certain songwriters which they have credited for molding them into the musicians they are now. Songwriters like John Martyn and Nick Drake have influenced them. At the same time, they have also credited the Beatles as one of their influences.

Most of the sound which kosmoratik produces has since been identified to be heavily influenced by first wave rock. This can be noticed in the heavier undertones that they tend to use with the kind of sounds they come up with. However, they are considered to be producing pop.

As a band, the kind of music that they've been known to produce is considered to be of the symphonic pop sub-genre. Often, they make use of the blends of acoustic guitars, oboes, and string quartets. In addition, these are blended together to create a somewhat rock approach.

This group has also been known to create a music that of considered forward looking. They have also been committed towards producing a sound that is considered to be fresh among its audiences. After all, they are intent towards honoring the memories of those artists which have significantly influenced them.

In a time when people tend to listen over the same thing sung by different people every time, Kosmoratik chose to be different. They challenge the norm to create a sound that is distinctly theirs. Their first is Gravitation.
