Be Part Of A Roman Catholic Priest Calendar

By Steven Parker

Those who have spent time in serving the people by being part of his church has been noted to admit that they feel themselves growing spiritually because of the work that they do. Few individuals want this and feel that they were called to serve such purpose. However, doing so requires a considerable amount of time to think and reconsider.

There is a couple or requirements that are needed to become a Catholic priest. One of which is to be Catholic while others can be on things like educational attainment and spiritual aspects that will be evaluated by many religious people. If you are taking a gander at being one after seeing the Roman Catholic priest calendar, read on to find out what you need to do.

One is for you to obtain a college degree or a bachelors degree in any college or university. By taking up studies that are related to religion such as history, communications, philosophy, and etcetera, one is a step closer to becoming a priest. You can also opt for going to the seminary to do this because they also have formal education for people wanting to be priests.

While being in college, one may also want to ask for guidance from priests or other church leaders in order to enlighten you regarding the career you plan on taking. Aside from that, they may also provide you with needed spiritual advice. They will also help you be involved in activities that shall be helpful in your venture to priesthood.

More so, one must not only be actively participating in masses but also in different religious activities that are conducted by the church and its leaders. This will aid in your understanding of the path which you have chosen to take. Likewise, it will also expand your know how of things on the religious life.

After which, one shall be a candidate. You can use this stage in the process as a time for you to reflect on the life that you are about to enter as well as the consequences that may come along with it. In doing so, you will be able to assess whether or not it is the lifestyle you want to have.

Then, you will need to go to seminary where you shall be presented with graduate level work. It is almost just like college, except, the work and study that you need to do is more specific, for instance, preaching, liturgy, and pastoral ethics, among many others. Attending college may also heighten your chances of finishing seminary earlier than usual.

After going through seminary, one will then be ordained as a deacon. This can be done through a mass or any other religious celebration that shall be arranged by the leaders of the church. They will be granting you the sacrament of Holy Order and you shall be given assignments to begin the life of religion for more or less six months.

Ultimately, surviving all of these will welcome you to the life of priesthood. Like other careers, there are multiple forms of priesthood you will learn about in seminary. Many people, however, have quit halfway through the whole process especially after profound reflection.
