You Will Love Having A Blue Henon Bamboo Tree

By Ruthie Calderon

Many people like to plant different shrubs or trees in order to add more privacy to their gardens. Generally the faster growing plants are the more popular as not many people want to wait for many years for this cover to become apparent. One plant that many are turning to is the blue henon bamboo tree as it can grow as tall as thirty feet and very quickly.

The tree has a blue green colour to it and has a very beautiful appearance when planted in any garden. It is very fast growing and is known to grow as tall as fifty feet. The stems can reach anything from three inches in diameter and up and was first imported out of China in the early nineteenth century.

The Phyllostachys Nigra or the Henon Giant Gray can grow to very great heights and is also able to grow in many shaded areas as well. It seems to also do very well where the soil is poor and the watering is infrequent. This one is very hardy and as it ages the canes will change from an olive green to grey in colour. The canes are of high quality when it comes to wood and is frequently sought after by craftsmen.

The price for the fourteen inch wide clump will be about one hundred and fifty four dollars and the ten inch will set one back just over seventy seven dollars. The eight inch wide is about fifty two dollars and the six inch is only twenty eight dollars twenty five. Shipping costs on all of the above do apply and the shipping methods that can be used are UPS Ground or Motor Freight.

Bamboos are fairly easy to plant as they are upright and don't need a lot of space around them. Many people will grow them so that they can make their own fishing poles instead of spending lots of money buying one. They also come in handy when one needs a sturdy upright pole to help climbers in other parts of the garden.

Many weapons have also been made out of these and are still used in Asian martial arts. The bamboo staff has one end sharpened and is used in the art silambam. In Indian culture the stave is used for gatka and is mainly used because it is light in weight. They are also popular in the making of the bow in archery and bow-hunting.

The Robert Young Bamboo Plant has a very fast growth speed and tends to spread just as quick. Its canes are variegated with bright tallow and green stripes. It will resemble a weeping bamboo when at its full height which can be about thirty five feet. The prices will vary when it comes to the width of the shoot clump.

There are two types of bamboos the running and the clumping. It is well worth ones time to become familiar with these two types as the running one can become very much like a forest over time. Those that have planted the wrong type swear that they will never plant bamboo again.
