Creating Colorful Spaces With Metal Garden Art

By Catalina Nielsen

Beauty, creativity, serenity and style have never been as easy as with metal garden art. The mix of real flowers and plants, with art scenes, and colorful displays of illusion not only creates beauty, but a type of outdoor decorating that is fun and unusual. Any yard space, or boring and bland corner can be turned into one bursting with style and color, contrast and design.

Small flowers, leaves, or an ensemble of birds, farm animals, frogs, cats, elves and fairies are perfect for sitting in gardens, or as yard decorations. Life-size flowers make perfect yard sculptures, as do cows, geese, dogs and cats, girls and boys, and a wide range of other metal art. Almost any animal, plant or flower can be made into a piece of yard art.

Some outside art is right for placing with flowers, and other pieces are better for placing in yards to create an unusual, and eye-catching, outdoor scene. This creates interest, and a type of yard art that won't compare to the neighbor's, especially when arrangements are coordinated into a colorful, and imaginative scene.

Others are ball trees, or buckets of metal flowers. Ball trees are small artful trees, with translucent glass balls, attached to swirling limbs that bend in curls. Some are attached to stakes and placed in the ground, and others are placed in buckets, resembling a Christmas tree in style. Other ball colors, such as blues, pinks and greens are often used. They can also be used year round, and at various times of the year, hanging other items from the branches to decorate for holidays, such as Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Another creative idea, are ball stakes, which is very similar to trees, and uses the same concept. These are simply a branch of a tree, with balls, which are put in the ground next to flowers or colored grass. They are meant to add a color explosion, while also serving as a creative way to decorate yards.

Humming birds next to flowers, or other items such as creative mermaids, or hula girls are also interesting pieces to include. Adding silhouettes also adds to the overall art, and creates a bit of illusion. Girls bending over with a water can, or a boy picking flowers adds an element of imagination, and are fun to include. Other art of squirrels eating, or bunnies hopping are also fun.

Poppies on stakes are not only fun, but will create a life-like scene all their own. When placed in a yard design, resembling a garden, they can create color, and bring life and sense of adventurous art to spaces. When used with other larger flowers, or garden art leaves they will create a space full of color, with elements of illusion. Not only that a boring space is now bursting with color, and interest.

This is especially true when art is strategically placed in the yard and coordinated with other pieces. There are many styles and ways to use metal garden art to create unusual outdoor arrangements that will perfectly compliment any garden. They will also bring to life any yard.
