The said award was big for the company since this paved the way for their popularity in the auto industry. Together with the fame is their greater than before profit. The 1950's and 1960's were the grandest years for GM. It is in this period that they were able to gain the interest of the public. Also this is the time when they were able to construct and offer more models of trucks, about 75. The new models that they offer were packed with features that made them more pleasing. Thus in this period, GM was declared as the third of the largest manufacturer of trucks globally.
The impact of economic crisis is also felt by GMC with higher cost of raw materials and production. This is even more intensified with aggressive competition among vehicle brands.
