My Initial Expansion Into A New Endeavour Was Encouraged A Few Years Ago

By Jon Izzard

I have founded my own fishing tackle shop on the net which is jolly exciting. It should permit me to broaden my activities in continuing with my SEO work as well as making money by joining affiliate marketing plans and carrying links to retailers of bait and tackle, fishing books and DVDs as well as travel companies offering products targeted at the angling fan.

What I'm planning to do is cover all aspects of demand for bait and tackle for anglers in the United Kingdom and the US which has been included, and Aus and South Africa will be added in the next few days.

Today there is a tipping towards bait and tackle shops in America, and there is a reason for this. As in so many areas, the Americans are years in advance of their British counterparts when it comes to affiliate marketing. Over there, where businesses have an online site for selling their goods, they understand that they can bring in many more clients if more sites carry links to them rather than depending on their own site being found by shoppers, and are prepared to pay a commission to encourage that.

This isn't in fact the case for the United Kingdom online bait and tackle sites however, and the other reason for not many British links is that there is a fishing tackle shop company who is launching a new affiliate marketing plans for bait and tackle suppliers which is getting ready to go live in the 2011 and I'm anticipating joining that and then considerably building the number of links for British maggot drowners.

In the short term, the SEO work can continue to promote the shop and by the time the United Kingdom sites are displayed, my fishing tackle shop ought to be scaling the heights of the search results tables as the engines become more aware of the existence of the site and finds loads of juicy relevant links to it, both in articles and across business directories.

What has inspired this choice to have a fishing tackle shop as my first in affiliate marketing is that I have missed it since I halted fishing several years ago. I was reminded how much I used to get from it when I was engaged at an office that was sat beside a canal and during a break I would often observe people outside having fun, and later when out for an amble along one of the nearby canals some months ago I kept thinking how lovely it would be to be able to escape with my bait and tackle and get a bit of time by myself in a relaxing situation.

So in the future, I plan to improve the fishing site as much as I can, promote it across the web and then start some more and work on those. When I'm not away by the water of course.
